The Penns Creek Chapter of Trout Unlimited is dedicated to providing education on conservation issues for the general public. We feel conservation education is a priority among youth and adults alike. Education programs have been provided on angling, fly tying, and fly fishing techniques. We envision continuing these efforts.
The Penns Creek Chapter is currently trying to set up more educational opportunities for its members and open to the general public. We are considering short presentations at each monthly meeting and various course offerings sponsored by the chapter. We hope to utilize the First Cast curriculum and materials geared toward youth in the near future. We plan on participating in the Shade mountain Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation by setting up a fly tying and fishing station again this year. This event reaches about 75 kids ages 8-14 with their parents each year.
Some ideas are being kicked around at present, but nothing is set in stone yet. If you would like to volunteer to help with an activity, suggest an activity for us to sponsor, or an event you believe we should participate in, please complete the suggestion form below. As courses are offered, you will be able to pre-register from this form.
