Protection of Coldwater Fishery Resources: The Penns Creek Chapter of Trout Unlimited is dedicated to the protection of our coldwater fishery resources. We act to preserve our water resources whenever threatened. We feel it is our obligation to actively pursue water quality problems to enhance the fisheries.
Stream Enhancement: The Penns Creek Chapter of Trout Unlimited provides streambank and in-stream enhancement to provide quality habitat for trout, aquatic insects, and migratory waterfowl. We have used Embrace-A-Stream and PA Department of Environmental Protection Growing Greener Grant funding in addition to local chapter contributions for projects in the Penns Creek Chapter. We are always looking for potential enhancement project sites on local trout streams. All enhancement projects are accomplished in coordination with the PA Fish Commission and local Conservation Districts.
Education: The Penns Creek Chapter of Trout Unlimited is dedicated to providing education on conservation issues for the general public. We feel conservation education is a priority among youth and adults alike. Education programs have been provided on angling, fly tying, and fly fishing techniques. We envision continuing these efforts.
Building Community Coalitions: The Penns Creek of Trout Unlimited is actively involved in building cooperation and coordination of conservation efforts. We attempt to work with as many groups as possible with similar conservation, protection, and enhancement goals.
